Altair
Publications
Altair in the constellation Aquilae The Eagle. From Al Tair, the Eagle, the wounding.
The Bird of Jove. The FLYER. A bold, confident, valiant, unyielding, ambitious and liberal
nature. Great and sudden but ephemeral wealth; a position of command!
Altair (alpha Aql), the twelfth brightest star. Altair spins very rapidly,
completing one revolution every 6.5 hours, which deforms the star. It is thought Altair's
equatorial diameter is twice its polar diameter.
ALTAIR
With Uranus (configured so in the election timing for Altair
Publications); Cautious, spiritual sympathetic just and idealistic. Good friends and minds
of the literary or Gemini type.
In the Euphratean uranographic stone, about 1200 BCE it was known as the Eagle, or the
Living Eye.
It was always known as Aquila by the Latins and by their poets as Jovia Ales and Jovia
Nutrix. The Bird and the
Nurse of Jove; Jovia Armiger and Armiger Ales, the Armor-bearing bird of Jove in his
conflict with the giants;
while Ganymedes Raptrix and Servans Antinoum are from the legends that the Eagle carried
Ganymede to the heavens and stood in attendance on Jove. Ovid made it Merops, King of Cos,
turned into the Eagle of the Sky.
Eagles were often confused with Vultures in Greek and Roman ornithology, and Aquila also
was Vultur volans. This title appeared as late as Flamsteed's time and its translation,
The Flying Grype, becoming its old English name, especially among English astrologers, who
ascribed to it mighty virtue. The Greeks even knew it by several names signifying Torture,
probably from the story of the eagle which preyed on the liver of Prometheus. Similarly,
it was called Aquila Promethei and Tortor Promethiei.
To the Arabians, it became Al Okab, Black Eagle, .
Grotius called the whole constellation Altair and Alcair,
Bayer called it Alcar and Atair, and Al Achsasi called it Al
Ghurab, The Crow or the Raven.
Persian titles were Alub, Gherges, and Shahin tara zed, the star-striking Falcon of Al
Nasr al Din. In the Ilkhanian Tables it was called the Flying Vulture; the Turks called it
Taushaugjil, the Hunting Eagle. The Hebrews knew it as Neshr, an Eagle, Falcon, or
Vulture.
Julius Schiller claimed it was Saint Catherine the Martyr, Erhard Weigel made the
Brandenburg Eagle constellation from the constellations of Aquila, Antinous, and the
Dolphin. The Chinese called that area of the sky the Draught Oxen.
Aquilae is the genitive form, as in Altair's other identification, Alpha Aquilae, the
brightest star in Aquila.
It is also spelled Althair, Athair, Attair, and Atair, the last name was used in the book
Ben Hur as the name of one of the horses in the chariot race. The word has also been
modified at different times to Alcair, Alchayr, and Alcar.
In early astrology, Altair was a mischief-maker and portended danger from reptiles. In the
Arabic-Greek-Roman traditions (where he was also something of a mischief maker). In
Gaelic, "altair" means "altar"; in Celtic astrology, it symbolizes the
soul of Arthur. In China, Japan and Korea, I believe Altair is known as Ch'ien Niu, the
royal cowherd. Hindu astrology mentions the footsteps of Vishnu.

some of the definitions above.
Because the "All that Is" is the unbroken wholeness of all that exists, it is
a "sea" of consciousness.
As an identity we create the idea that the identity we are is ALL we are, and in a sense,
by definition (Aries and Mars) cut ourselves off from the awareness of this unbroken
wholeness, note I say awareness, because we can never truly break our interconnectedness
to the "All That Is." Only our awareness OF this connection is forgotten.
Time, space and specificity are the TRUE illusion in an unbroken wholeness that exists
everywhere all at once such as ALL THAT IS, is. We have played the game of
"forgetting" that we are the reality we "apparently" exist within for
hundreds of thousands of years.
The water and the fish are aspects, and facets of the ocean, but
the ocean (Poseidon) none the less.
Negative energy remember is separating, limiting, constrictive, segregating.
Positive is unifying, inclusive, expansive UNlimiting.
When perceived or experienced negatively (through insisting that you you are is all you
are) Neptune, by the reflective effect of the energy put in, invites effects such as
confusion, illusion, escapism. These are the effects of approaching the
"sea" and viewing the sea as being dangerous and threatening to the identity
(negative energy) and that it will DIS-solve and end in the dissolution and non-existence
of the you you choose to be.
When we recognize that by including greater realities and greater aspects of the self; a
positive approach to Neptune, we need not fear this "ocean" of greater aspects
of the self and can then allow these greater aspects that we are to CO-FUSE with, instead
of con-fusing the self that we are.
If we believe that we will "lose" something by incorporating and co-fusing these
larger concepts and realities, it is because of the insecurity with the self and its
rightful experience of validity just because it exists that is the "cause" of
this effect. Allowing the ego to co-fuse with higher aspects of the self empowers, not
dissolves the identity.
If we believe that we are a part of this unbroken wholeness; this "sea"of
"All That Is", and that it must have known what it was doing when it extended us
and created us into the sea as one of the facets of it, then there is no
reason to fear dis-solution and we can know that the abundance of the Multiverse is ours
to co-fuse and have access to, to support the facet that we are within it. This
is the positive aspect of Neptune often missed by astrologers.
But it reflects the support of the "All That Is", and rightly so, as the higher
octave of Venus, the "support" of Neptune extends to the unseen support as well
as the seen.
Therefore, simply recognize that it is always a choice in creation how we will
experience the Ocean, the sea.
It can cleanse the toxins of belief in separateness through this co-fusion, or threaten
the self as the negative effect of the insecurities the self creates of its
own existence.
One=reality and one=illusion. We can drown or use this sea to transport and co-fuse the
self we are across the sea of the more expanded self we "really" are.
Saturn=focused dream.
Neptune=expanded dream.
When the white eagle of the north is flying overhead,
and the browns, reds, and golds of autumn lie in
the gutter, dead.
Remember then the summer birds with wings of fire
flaying come to witness springs new hope,
born of leaves decaying.
As new life will come through death, love will come
at leisure, love of love, love of life and giving,
without measure gives in return the wondrous yearn
for promise, almost seen.
Live hand in hand, and together we'll stand
on the threshold of a dream.
The Moody Blues
Here is the logical sequence of basic chart analysis I suggest and use;
1)Count the Elemental and Mode weighing based on a point system of 2 points for the
luminaries and 1 point for all other MAJOR planets (no asteroids or planetoids) and 1 for
MC and ASC.
This establishes a fundamental belief system structure from which further analysis can
proceed.
2) Interpret the Sun/Moon BLEND (not individually) which will be the driving force that
permeates the entire chart overlaid upon the elemental count.
3) Observe hemisphere emphasis of the planetary groupings (west/east/north/south) to
understand the basic belief in what angle (Cardinal point) is believed to be sensitive
requiring protection (i.e. planets grouped in the west-7 or more incline to sensitivity
and influence from the opinions of others and the belief in externalized reality
affecting them).
4) Understand the ascendant and cuspal arrangement to understand how this basic
thrust of the identity has chosen to express itself.
5) Identify MAJOR planetary configurations (i.e. T-square, grand cross, grand trine etc.)
These structures will be where the identity focuses their beliefs about reality
and externalizes them (negative aspects are FAR more important in understanding this than
positive, which support the expression of the negative).
6) Tie all houses and planets together to understand the chart holistically by connecting
all rulerships of houses and dispositor dynamics to the fullest extent of your
capabilities into the developmental networks to understand how the developmental
patterns are tied to life issues and orientation.
7) Add the nuance of planetoids, asteroids, nodes, parts, minor aspects etc. in
your own particular way.
If this procedure is followed, there is little error in understanding the thrust of the
horoscope and belief system. It is a progressive compilation of understandings all
connected and progressively broadened that allows us to understand the individual or event
at hand. Of course it helps if you are competent in psychology, and aware of human nature
as well, as this allows an understanding of the why they may feel or believe the
way they do (connecting these things to early environmental influence and schema formation
from parental impact and nurture etc.)
NO predictions, projections, or any sort of comprehensive understandings of the
probability of unfoldment are possible until this is firmly established as an
understanding in the astrologers mind. This understanding I have termed the "law of
momentum flow", which encompasses both belief and physical momentums described by
some as karma. Once these momentums are understood the "proof" of
astrological unfoldment is easily seen and
more clearly projected.
I hope this helps and serves as a guideline of some sort, as sketchy as it is.
..."but the idea many times of the reasons that those fears occur in your society,
when you are interacting with beings from other societies in that way, no matter what
level you are interacting with them, the reason that many of those fears occur is
because-let us say-and again in no way, shape, or form, is this meant to be a comparative
judgment that you are any less than any other being. But the way you create yourselves to
be, the way you have been taught to think of yourselves, creates within you the ability to
hide and suppress many portions of your consciousness from yourselves, and in doing so you
function on a lower vibratory frequency very often. When you come in contact with a being
that operates on a very high vibratory frequency because it is willing to know itself as
completely as it can, then those two frequencies when they come together, will usually
create the effect of the higher frequency in a sense overwhelming the lower frequency, and
forcing the lower frequency to rise in pitch. In forcing the lower frequency to raise in
pitch, that will bring to the surface all the things that you have been keeping buried
within you, and bringing those things to the surface when you are not ready to face them,
can be a very fearful experience for many of you. That is where the fear comes from."
Bashar discussing alien interaction on other levels "Perfection" 2/21/87
You can hear Bashar live at http://www.bashartapes.com
Free will exists on all levels. Before incarnation in the non-physical state, the free
will of the higher self, (by vibrational frequency and explorational necessity),
determines the idea you wish to express and experience as a physical being. This choice is
then reflected as a "frozen vibrational frequency" in the celestial
configurations surrounding you, known as the HOROSCOPE (time
view). Above and below are one. This choice that is reflected in these configurations, is
the "Hallway" (Bashar) of incarnational choice; The free will of the higher
self and the theme it has chosen. Free will is all there is. If the universe was
closed ended, there would exist no ability for reflection upon this choice we
then read through these celestial positions. The horoscope therefore, helps us understand
and fulfill these choices by bringing to the conscious awareness the
understanding of this theme.
As an incarnate being the identity then through conscious commandment as a conscious
being-an ego self (false face or persona) can then act on this hallway. You can
go down this hallway in an integrated way, happy, sad, focused, unfocused, with
inspiration, with despair, with joy or out of integrity; But go down this hallway you
have already willed. This is what the horoscope IS, it is the hallway that the free
will of the higher self has chosen. The free will of the physical self then directs this
choice through conscious choice, action is the conviction of belief.
Belief determines definitions, definitions determine behavior, reality creation and
experience. It is always free will, it always works based upon the belief and
definitions held consciously, unconsciously and as the effect of the law of momentum
flow.
The appearance of fate is simply unrecognized choice, choices made at other levels by you
-for you- to explore the you you are. Even if you choose to create the illusion
that you have no free will, it is still a choice and you are using your creative power to
do so, although you may use 90% to create the illusion you only have 10%. Everything
therefore -in anyone's life- is there for THEIR reason, there is something within the
scenario and experiences that they wish and have willed themselves to learn from,
observe, reflect on, and understand.
"He who has so little knowledge of human nature as to seek happiness by changing
anything but his own disposition, will waste his life in fruitless efforts and multiply
the griefs which he proposes to remove."
Webster
In support of the idea of creating one's reality and that the horoscope makes sense
from the holographic view, I here present an excerpt from the Holographic Universe by
Michael Talbot.
In order for the horoscope to be a reflection to the senses of another aspect that is not
necessarily physical, we must acknowledge the current theories of reality being IMPLICATE
and enfolded. In other words as in experiments where photons were shown to act as if they
were connected even though no physical connection could be made, (Alain Aspect, Jean
Dalibard, Gerard Roger of University of paris -Optics) this aspect known as a
"nonlocal" implication reveals all particles are continually interacting and
separating so that this evidence of the interconnectedness of "All That Is"
"the nonlocal aspects of quantum systems is therefore a general property of
nature."(Paul Davis, "Superforce", New York, 1984, page 48).
This nonlocal aspect reflects the idea that although physically untestable (which by the
way MANY theories still are and may be for many years-such as superstring theories etc.)
are never- the-less supported by these studies with some evidence of the
interconnectedness of the universe. This just makes sense to me intuitively and I am quite
sure it will not be long when science will validate what astrologers have known for a long
time. That our consciousness is reflected in and is a part of the surrounding cosmos. As
above so below.
The main architects of this astonishing idea are two of the world's most eminent thinkers:
University of London physicist David Bohm, a protege of Einstein's and one of the world's
most respected quantum physicists; and Karl Pribram, a neurophysiologist at Stanford
University and author of the classic neuropsychological textbook Languages of the Brain.
Pribram and Bohm Together
Considered together, Bohm and Pribram's theories provide a profound new way of looking at
the world: Our brains mathematically construct objective reality by interpreting
frequencies that are ultimately projections from another dimension, a deeper order of
existence that is beyond both space and time: The brain is a hologram
enfolded in a holographic universe.
For Pribram, this synthesis made him realize that the objective world does not exist, at
least not in the way we are accustomed to believing. What is "out there" is a
vast ocean of waves and frequencies, and reality looks concrete to us only because our
brains are able to take this holographic blur and convert it into the sticks and stones
and other familiar objects that make up our world. How is the brain (which itself is
composed of frequencies of matter) able to take something as insubstantial as a blur of
frequencies and make it seem solid to the touch? "The kind of mathematical process
that Bekesy simulated with his vibrators is basic to how our brains construct our
image of a world out there," Pribram states.' In other words, the smoothness of a
piece of fine china and the feel of beach sand beneath our feet are really just elaborate
versions of the phantom limb syndrome.
According to Pribram this does not mean there aren't china cups and grains of beach sand
out there. It simply means that a china cup has two very different aspects to its reality.
When it is filtered through the lens of our brain it manifests as a cup. But if we could
get rid of our lenses, we'd experience it as an interference pattern. Which one is real
and which is illusion? "Both are real to me," says Pribram, "or, if you
want to say, neither of them are real." a
This state of affairs is not limited to china cups. We, too, have two very different
aspects to our reality. We can view ourselves as physical bodies moving through space. Or
we can view ourselves as a blur of interference patterns enfolded throughout the cosmic
hologram.
Bohm believes this second point of view might even be the more correct, for to think of
ourselves as a holographic mind/brain looking at a holographic universe is again an
abstraction, an attempt to separate two things that ultimately cannot be separated.
Do not be troubled if this is difficult to grasp. It is relatively easy to understand the
idea of holism in something that is external to us, like an apple in a hologram. What
makes it difficult is that in this case we are not looking at the hologram. We are part of
the hologram. The difficulty is also another indication of how radical a revision Bohm and
Pribram are trying to make in our way of thinking. But it is not the only radical
revision. Pribram's assertion that our brains construct objects pales beside another of
Bohm's conclusions: that we even construct space and time. The implications of this view
are just one of the subjects that will be examined as we explore the effect Bohm and
Pribram's ideas have had on the work of researchers in other fields.
"Wonder why we try so hard! Wonder why we try at all! You wonder why the world is
turning around, in the end it won't matter at all!!
Walking in the town, looking at people counting their frowns. Unhappy faces hurrying
around, so blindly cannot see, all of the things, the way life ought to be, and with
tomorrow what will they make of me?
It leaves me so much to explain, that's the start of our guessing game!" The Moody
Blues "Guessing Game"
